Big Public Talks - The Basics

There are two ways to put on a Big Public Talk: The Hard Way & The Easy Way.

The Hard Way: Plan the Big Public Talk a year in advance, but procrastinate until month 4 or 5 and then start scrambling around, creating publicity, asking people to help... and maybe even distributing some publicity, but selling very few tickets.

By that time, you will feel a lot of pressure to succeed and attempt to make up for lost time by doing 10 or 20 things per day. This will guarantee burnout and frustration and you'll feel like you're running in circles with little chance for success.

The Easy Way: Plan the the Big Public Talk a year in advance. Have all your publicity and and promotional materials created by month 12. But instead of stressing-out, doing 10 to 20 things per day, you calmly and happily do 1 or 2 things. Instead of running around, begging others to help (who are already busy and overwhelmed), you carefully choose one or two people to assist you, each person only needing to help a few minutes each day.

Following the steps in this process can be done by anyone, because it will only take you 10-15 minutes per day. This approach will enable you to enjoy the effort and accumulate so many incredible causes that will benefit you and your Center for many years.

By the time the 4th or 5th month approaches, you will have created thousands of causes that will easily ripen into a very meritorious and successful lead-up to a very meritorious and successful event. If you do things this way, you will feel energized and inspired as the Big Night approaches... leading up to one of the most meaningful and enjoyable moments of your life!
